SeaWorthy Inspections is a proud company delivering a comprehensive inspection service to the recreational boating market including fishing, cruising and ski boats as well as PWCs.

We have developed industry-leading processes to comprehensively inspect boats, engines and trailers and provide clarity to our customers on the vessel they intend to purchase or sell. We help our customers to make an informed buying decision, and importantly, to avoid the pain and expense of buying a defective boat.

About the role

Perform vessel inspections onsite at customer’s premises or place of storage or access as booked and directed by SeaWorthy Inspections.

Inspectors are to perform their duties following the prescribed systems, procedures and guidelines of SeaWorthy Inspections and do so diligently while building strong relationships with their customers and affiliate partners.

The successful candidates must have

  • 5 years or more hands on experience as a marine mechanic
  • Strong knowledge of all types and style of boat construction, outboard and inboard motors and related components, electrical and fuel systems, electronics and trailers
  • Excellent hand tool skills
  • Quality basic hand tool set
  • Good customer service ethic
  • Excellent attention to detail and pride in their work
  • Ability and willingness to follow our proven systems
  • Driver’s licence with a clear driving record
  • Technology competent on Ipad/iPhone platforms

SeaWorthy Inspector Profile & Selection Criteria

  • Experienced marine mechanic with at least 5 years hands on experience in recreational boating post qualification
  • Proven ability and reputation/track record in the marine industry
  • Strong knowledge of all types and styles of boat construction, PWCs, outboard and inboard motors and related components, trailers, electronics, electrical systems and fuel systems
  • Proven ability and reputation/track record in the marine industry
  • Strong commitment to marine safety, a compliant mentality and OH&S awareness
  • Physically fit and healthy
  • Good personal presentation
  • Stable work (life) history and background
  • Passion for the boating industry and community
  • Good reputation with industry suppliers
  • Strong customer relationship skills – a friendly demeanor
  • Excellent attention to detail – quality mindset
  • Cleanliness in their work, vehicle and presentation
  • Pride in their work and results
  • Punctual – good time management skills
  • Must satisfy a Police Check
  • Willingness and ability to follow to SeaWorthy Inspection’s systems and processes
  • Aptitude for use of specified software and systems and tooling
  • Of good moral standing and ethics
  • Ability to have honest and harder conversations with clients when required
  • Good Team fit with SeaWorthy Inspections group/network
  • Contributor – ideas and feedback
  • Good driving history – patient and courteous
